Two sides who are looking to find a route into the play-off places in the early hours of Sunday, Sporting Kansas will welcome Chicago to Children’s Mercy Park.

Starting with the hosts, managing to snatch what was a stunning last-gasp equaliser away at LA Galaxy earlier in the week, Sporting Kansas are enjoying an eye-catching run of form. Suffering just a single defeat from any of their last six domestic appearances, Peter Vermes’ men will be looking to make a statement here. With their recent flurry highlighted by a thumping 4-1 romp against Austin on June 11th, the Wizards are enjoying a fine free-scoring run in the final third. Knowing that they can break into the play-off places here, Vermes will be calling on his attacking talisman to spearhead their charge this weekend. Bagging a stellar brace in California a few days ago, Alan Pulido has now notched six goals in just his last four domestic outings. Likewise, along with bagging seven MLS goals this season, the 32-year-old has also scored three strikes in back-to-back showdowns at Children’s Mercy Park.

As for the visitors, managing to make a crucial return to winning ways earlier in the week, Chicago are now desperate to find some much-needed stability. Drawing a line under their five-match winless run, interim boss Frank Klopas still knows that his temporary squad face a real uphill battle in their bid to claim a play-off ticket. However, failing to secure back-to-back domestic victories since the middle of May, the Fire should be worried by what is a remarkable nightmare record at Children’s Mercy Park. Hit with a routine 2-0 loss when they travelled to Kansas last season, Chicago have remarkably lost each of their last six straight away trips to Sporting KC – a run that stems all the way back to a 1-1 draw in July 2014. Although Klopas’ side might have made some recent improvements on the road, they will face a stern examination here.

Bet: Alan Pulido to score anytime against Chicago Fire 6/4 for Sunday’s MLS matchup @ Pribet
