Bitesize Prediction: Wigan vs Coventry – 14/03/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Coventry draw no bet

Odds: 5/6 @ 888sport

Looking to make up some ground in the play-off chase on Tuesday night, Coventry will make the trip to the DW Stadium when they meet Wigan.

Starting with the hosts, while Wigan might have opened Shaun Maloney’s tenure in charge with a much-needed 1-0 victory at home against Huddersfield last month, the Latics have come crashing back down to earth in some style. Putting in a nightmare display away at local rivals Burnley over the weekend as they slumped to a routine 3-0 drumming, the former Hibernian boss knows that he faces an almighty struggle over the coming months. Sat rock-bottom of the Championship table and already six points adrift of finding a route out of the drop zone, it is no secret that Wigan have been tipped as a leading relegation contender in 2023. Collecting just a single point from any of their last four Championship showdowns, Tuesday’s hosts have also shown some extended issues in the final third. It should also be noted, Maloney’s side have picked up just one win at the DW Stadium since way back on November 12th.

As for the visitors, although Coventry might have been disappointed after stelling for a 1-1 draw at home against Coventry over the weekend, Mark Robins’ side should be smelling a golden chance here. Continuing to gain a string of plaudits from across the Championship this season, the Blues know that another victory on Tuesday night would move them within touching distance of the play-off places. Opening March with a thumping display on the road as they cruised their way to a 4-0 romp against Huddersfield, the Midlands-based outfit are unbeaten in each of their last seven straight Championship appearances. With their recent purple patch highlighted by a 2-1 victory against Sunderland on February 25th, Robins’ side will be looking to lay down a top-six marker in midweek. Picking up a 2-0 win when they met Wigan for their reverse meeting back in November, a Coventry draw no bet can be found at appealing odds.

Bet: Coventry draw no bet against Wigan 5/6 for Tuesday’s Championship matchup @ 888sport
