Bitesize Prediction: Wolves vs Leeds – 18/03/22

Competition: Premier League

Market: Wolves win

Odds: 13/10 @ 888sport

Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the Premier League table, Wolves will host Leeds on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, managing to pick up a 1-0 win away at relegation scrappers Everton last weekend, Wolves do appear to have put their brief issues behind them. Rallying back from their three-match losing run with a 4-0 romp against Watford on March 10th, Bruno Lage’s side still have their sights firmly set on securing a European finish this season. Smelling the chance to lay down a marker when they return to the Midlands on Friday night, the former Benfica boss has also seen his side gain plenty of plaudits for their success at the back. Including back-to-back Premier League clean sheets, Wolves will also be boosted by the last time that Leeds made the trip to Molineux last season. It should be noted, when the two sides faced off in the Midlands during the 2020/21 campaign, Lage’s side picked up a 1-0 victory.

As for the visitors, managing to snatch what was a stunning injury-time winner against Norwich last weekend, there is no doubt that Leeds will be desperate to build off of that momentum here. Managing to pick up their first victory since bringing in new boss Jesse Marsch, the Whites still find themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap. Looking over their shoulder and managing to record just a single top-fliight victory since the middle of January, Friday’s guests have gained a reputation for their struggles on the road. Including a woeful 6-0 drumming at the hands of Liverpool on February 23rd, Leeds have lost each of their last three matchups away from Elland Road by an aggregate score of 10-0. Knowing that they face a stern test at the European contenders here, we’re backing a home victory at attractive odds.
