Bolton wants at least £15m for Cahill

Bolton manager Gary Megson insists they want more than £15million if they are going to consider selling Gary Cahill.

The 23-year-old has been a hit at Bolton since joining the club for £5million from Aston Villa.

Cahill has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea in recent weeks.

“Gary is under contract and we are currently in the process of negotiating a new, improved deal for him,” said Megson.

“He’s the best young centre-half in the country by an absolute street and I’ve been delighted with him again this year.

“I want to build the team around him for the next few seasons.

“I can understand why the big clubs are interested in Gary, but it’s going to take an offer over and above what we received for Nicolas Anelka from Chelsea.”
