Two of Serie A’s powerhouses will go head to head on Friday night as Gennaro Gattuso’s AC Milan side welcome Roma to the San Siro.

Starting with Gattuso’s side, after AC were only able to land a sixth-place finish in Serie A last season, the Red and Blacks will be hoping that the addition of Juventus loanee Gonzalo Higuain will help spearhead their push for Champions League football. Losing three of their four matches in the ICC over the summer, Milan appears to have dragged their defensive issues into the new campaign. Despite leading 2-0 at half-time against Napoli in their Serie A opener, the hosts threw away three second-half goals and came away empty handed. While they have managed to find the net in all of their domestic matches since April, they have only recorded one clean sheet in their last 11 Serie A matches.

As for last years Champions League semi-finalists, Eusebio Di Francesco’s are looking to try and close the gap on Napoli and Juventus after landing a third-place finish last season. Unbeaten in their two opening matches, Roma are also coming off the back of Serie A’s game of the weekend last time out when they drew 3-3 with Atalanta. One man to watch for the visitors will be former Manchester City man Edin Dzeko. Opening his account for the new season last week, the Roma striker also bagged 16 league goals last season and finished as the clubs top scorer. The glamour tie of this weekend’s fixtures, we’re backing plenty of chances to both ends.
