Two sides looking to book their spot in the Final of this year’s Coppa Italia, AC Milan will welcome Lazio to the San Siro on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of a lackluster 1-1 draw away at Parma last weekend, AC Milan are starting to crawl over the finish line. With only their goal difference seeing them maintain their spot in the top four, Rossoneri’s 1-0 win over Lazio earlier in the month is their only victory in their last five outings. In a campaign that can best be described as inconsistent, Milan’s defensive issues will be giving boss Gennaro Gattuso the biggest headache. While Wednesday’s hosts have recorded just a single clean sheet in their lasts seven appearances, the former Italian giants have managed to find the net in eight of their nine previous outings.

As for the visitors, much like AC Milan, Lazio are enduring their own sluggish end to the season. Suffering a very worrying 2-1 loss at home to Chievo over the weekend, there is no doubt that Simone Inzaghi will be demanding an immediate response. Sat way down in eighth in Italy’s top-tier, the Blue and Whites sit three points adrift of securing another season of European football. Now recording just one victory in their last five attempts, Inzaghi will also be growing more concerned by his own defensive issues. Lazio have recorded just two clean sheets in their last eight outings and only one on the road since the 2nd of February.
