Both teams to score at Bayern Munich vs Lazio 2/3 for Wednesday’s Champions League second-leg tie

Competition: Champions League

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 2/3 @ 888sport

Looking to finish off the job on home soil this week, Bayern Munich will welcome Lazio to an empty Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, eventually managing to pick up a 4-1 romp in the first-leg out in Italy last month, Bayern Munich will simply be looking to avoid any real banana skins. While the German giants might have shown their own issues since opening 2021, the defending European champions do appear to be enjoying a recent boost. Bouncing back from that shock 2-1 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt last month, Hans-Dieter Flick’s men are currently enjoying a four-match winning run across all formats. Although Bayern might have now failed to record a single clean sheet in their last six fixtures on the spin, they famously have some serious firepower. Picking up a 3-1 win away at Werder Bremen on Bundesliga duties over the weekend, it should be noted that Wednesday’s hosts have bagged 16 goals in just their last four victories.

As for the visitors, hit with that 4-1 defeat on home soil last month, Lazio will simply be looking to save some face when they travel out to Germany in midweek. Knowing that they need a miracle if they’re to extend on their Champions League adventure this year, Head Coach Simone Inzaghi would have at least been glad to see his side make a return to winning ways over the weekend. Freefalling their way down in the Serie A table and in an uphill battle if they’re to secure another European finish, The Eagles brought an end to their three-match losing run with an action-packed 3-2 win against Crotone on Friday night. Gaining a reputation for their issues on the road and with four of Lazio’s last five away fixtures finishing with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome at the Allianz this week.
