Both teams to score at Benfica vs PSV 7/10 for Wednesday’s Champions League qualifying first-leg

Competition: Champions League qualifying

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport

In what could be another lively affair on Wednesday night, Benfica will welcome PSV to the Estádio da Luz as both sides look to pick up an early advantage.

Starting with the hosts, enjoying what was an eye-catching pre-season run and gaining some perfect momentum, it appears that Benfica have dragged that form into the new campaign. Eventually landing themselves what was a deserved 4-0 aggregate romp against what some thought could be a tricky Spartak Moscow earlier in the month, Head Coach Rui Costa should find the mood in his camp at a high. Once of just four sides who have claimed back-to-back wins since opening the 2021/22 Primeira Liga season, The Eagles have in fact won all four of their competitive contests so far this campaign. Looking to pick up an early advantage on Wednesday night, The Eagles should also be boosted by an impressive Champions League record on home soil. Including victories against the likes of Lyon and Zenit Saint Petersburg, the midweek hosts have won each of their last three European contests at the Estádio da Luz.

As for the visitors, looking to cause what many would bill as an upset on foreign soil this week, PSV are another side who should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Picking up some perfect momentum as they opened their Eredivisie campaign over the weekend, the Dutch outfit were last seen landing a deserved 2-0 victory away at Heracles. Extending on their Champions League adventure after claiming a thumping 4-0 aggregate win against Midtjylland earlier in the month, Roger Schmidt’s squad are in the midst of a real purple patch. Including knocking out Turkish giants Galatasaray earlier in their qualifying run, PSV also stunned many with their Super Cup display on August 7th. Hitting Ajax for four in what was an action-packed affair, we’re backing what could be another lively meeting on Wednesday night.
