Now in a battle to refind their form, DC United will welcome New England to Audi Field in the early hours of Saturday.

Starting with the hosts, after suffering a 2-0 loss away at Dallas in midweek, DC United have missed out on a string of opportunities to climb to the top of the East. Picking up just a single victory since the 13th of May, an eight-match run, there is no doubt that Head Coach Ben Olsen will be glad to make a return to Audi Field this weekend. Now sat five points adrift of Philadelphia, the Black and Reds are unbeaten in their last six matches in Washington and will be desperate to refind their form on Saturday. One man to watch for DC will be leading goalscorer and former Manchester United ace, Wayne Rooney. The 33-year-old has two in his last three and now sits fourth in the overall goalscoring charts.

As for the visitors, while DC might find themselves in the midst of a struggle, New England have continued to show signs of a real improvement. Coming off the back of a 2-1 victory away at Colorado last weekend and now picking up back-to-back wins in America’s top-tier, Head Coach Bruce Arena is watching his side enjoy a seven-match unbeaten MLS run. A huge part of their play-off push has come thanks to their performances on the road. Saturday’s guests are unbeaten in their last three matches on the road, including a 2-1 win away at LA Galaxy last month. With five of the last seven meetings between the two sides seeing both teams find the net after 90 minutes, we’re backing another high scoring encounter in Washington this weekend.
