Market: Both teams to score

Undoubtedly the two standouts sides in the Irish Premier Division this season, Dundalk and Cork City will battle it out in a matchup that could decide who is crowned Champions this year.

For Stephen Kenny’s Dundalk side, coming off the back of a 4-0 win away at Derry City last week, The Reds have been the stand-out side this season and along with holding the best-attacking stats in the division, they have also found the net 17 times in their last five outings. For Dundalk, unsurprisingly the hosts will be looking to leading goalscorer Pat Hoban to carry on his stellar run of form. With 19 goals already this year, the 26-year-old has now remarkably scored in each appearance this season including the winner in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

As for John Caulfield’s defending champions, entering Fridays contest a single point ahead of Dundalk, like their opponents, Cork have also enjoyed an impressive run of form of late. Coming off the back of a 1-0 win over Bohemians last time out, The Greens’ have now won their last seven matches on the bounce and they too hold an eye-catching record in the final third. Even without top scorer Graham Cummins who has been missing with an injury, Cork have now scored 13 in their last five. Backing both teams to find the net on Friday night seems like a safe bet at 10/11.
