Enduring a worrying run of form, Montreal will welcome a resurgent Real Salt Lake to the Stade Saputo in the early hours of Thursday.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of a 4-2 hammering away at Los Angeles last weekend, Montreal Head Coach Rémi Garde will be growing more concerned by his sides’ sluggish run. Managing to pick up just a single victory in any of their previous five encounters, the former Aston Villa boss will also be growing more worried by the Impact’s continued defensive issues. Shipping four at LAFC last time out, The hosts have managed to record just a single clean sheet over the past month and have now failed to win back-to-back matchups at the Stade Saputo and Thursday could prove to be another tough afternoon for fans in Quebec.

As for the visitors, despite their sluggish start, Real Salt Lake once again impressed in their 2-1 win at home to Atlanta last weekend, Mike Petke’s men have won their last three matches on the bounce and are enjoying a purple patch in the final third. One man to watch in midweek will be the red-hot Sam Johnson. Enjoying by far his most successful spell in the MLS, the 26-year-old has now bagged four in his last six including scoring in back-to-back matches on the road. With each of the last six meetings between the two sides seeing both teams find the net, we’re backing a similar outcome on Thursday.
