Two sides who have suffered with some very public defensive issues during pre-season, Tottenham will meet Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Tuesday evening.

Starting with Spurs, while Tottenham were able to name a starting XI that consisted of the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli over the weekend, Mauricio Pochettino’s side could only manage a 2-1 defeat against Manchester United in the USA. Still looking to put their Champions League final defeat against Liverpool behind them, their Argentinian boss will still have some issues over Tottenham’s defensive struggles. The Lilywhites have shipped a pair of goals in each of their last five appearances and have not recorded a clean sheet in any competition since the 23rd of April.

As for Real Madrid, coming off the back of a humiliating 7-3 hammering against bitter rivals Atletico out in the States over the weekend, Los Blancos still find themselves as a club in crisis. Despite breaking the bank to bring in Eden Hazard from Chelsea this summer, there still remains a battle between Gareth Bale and Head Coach Zinedine Zidane and the mood in Real’s camp remains at a low. Aside from a penalties victory over Arsenal in their International Champions Cup opener, the former European champions have lost four of their last five appearances and have also shipped two or more goals in each of their last six outings.
