Buffon: This Scudetto is unique

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon believes that the club’s latest Scudetto win was a unique achievement.

Juventus went through the season unbeaten to finish four points clear at the top of the Serie A table and win their first league crown since 2003, after the 2004-05 and 2005-06 titles were revoked in the Calciopoli trial.

As Juventus opened their new club museum on Wednesday, complete with its own section dedicated to the iconic keeper, Buffon shared his emotions about winning the Scudetto and guaranteed that he has no plans to retire just yet.

“I am lucky enough to be able to play much longer, I hope that this museum will be filled even more,” the 34-year-old said.

“The fact that there is a small space here dedicated to me is very good.

“Celebrating this Scudetto was great. There was so much joy repressed in us. This title does not resemble any other we have won, and there will never be any other like this.”

Buffon, who joined Juventus from Parma in 2001 in a 54-million-euro deal, has a contract with Juventus until 2014.
