Burnley 5/6 to beat Cardiff in Saturday’s Premier League tie

Competition: Premier League

Market: Burnley win

Odds: 5/6 @ Bet 365

All but securing another season in the top-flight, Burnley will host leading relegation contenders Cardiff at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of another impressive display in their 3-1 win away at Bournemouth last weekend, Burnley appears to have re-found their form at a pivotal time. Picking up back to back wins over the Cherries and Wolves, Sean Dyche’s side hold a very comfortable eight-point buffer from slipping back into the drop zone. A huge part of Burnley’s revival has come thanks to their form at Turf Moor. The Clarets have won five of their last eight Premier League matches in Lancashire and one man to watch on Saturday will be leading goalscorer, Ashley Barnes. Finding the net on the South Coast last weekend, the 29-year-old has six goals in his last 10 outings.

As for the visitors, while Burnely may have managed to have found a route away from the drop zone the same cannot be said for Cardiff. Coming off the back of 2-0 loss away at Manchester City and now losing five of their last six top-flight appearances, Neil Warnock’s side now sit five points adrift of safety. Managing to record just two Premier League victories away from South Wales all season, the Bluebirds also drastically struggled when the two sides met back in September. Slumping to a 2-1 loss when the two sides met at the Cardiff City Stadium, we’re backing a similar result on Saturday.
