Despite Southampton suggesting big name continental manages have been very interested in the vacant job at the club, Burnley’s Sean Dyche has found himself in the running and second favourite to succeed Mauricio Pochettino, who has recently left the South Coast outfit to join London giants Tottenham Hotspur.

Dyche led Burnley to a very unfancied automatic promotion in 2013/14 with a small budget to work with. It’s thought he would jump at the chance to join a more stable club in Southampton.

As a result, Ladbrokes are giving odds of 4/1 for Dyche to be the next Southampton manager this summer. He’s always maintained loyal to Burnley following their promotion by insisting he’s happy at the club and wants to keep them in the Premier League, but the chance to manage a side like Southampton certainly doesn’t come everyday, and should Saints approach him, he’d take little time to make the move.
