Odds: 11/10 @ Bet365

Serie A returns this weekend for another massive round of games as the competition continues to heat up. The league table has remained incredibly tight meaning that a single win can often see a team rise up a number of places, and with this in mind, Cagliari host SPAL on Sunday.

Cagliari have been struggling this season and are in need of a morale-boosting win order to turn their season around. After 22 games they have managed to win six, draw three and lose 13 times, while they have scored 20 goals and conceded 34 times. In their last five they have only won once, losing three games and drawing the other match. This has seen Cagliari onto 21 points which means they are just four clear of the relegation zone. The fans and the players will be nervously looking over their shoulders as the dreaded dotted-line edges ever closer.

SPAL have also been very poor this season, but they will know that a win on Sunday could see them rise out of the relegation zone. After 22 games they have only won three, while they have drawn eight and lost 11 times, scoring 23 goals and conceding 40 times. In their last five games they have drawn three times and lost twice which means they are on 17 points. SPAL are two points short of Crotone and safety meaning they will be desperate to win, but they will face a tough test against a Cagliari outfit that is in a similar situation.
