Still enjoying a very eye-catching run of form, League One high-flyers Charlton will travel to relegation scrappers Wycombe on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, suffering a 3-2 loss at home to Portsmouth over the weekend and continuing on what is becoming a very worrying run of form, Wycombe are firmly at the heart of a relegation battle. With longtime boss Gareth Ainsworth seeing his side just hold a one-point buffer over the drop zone, the Blues have lost their last four matches on the bounce and are looking for their first victory since the 26th of January. Arguably the biggest concern for fans around Adams Park will be their continued defensive struggles. Conceding two or more goals in each of their previous four defeats, Wycombe also shipped three when they last faced Charlton back in September.

As for the visitors, picking up another impressive 2-0 win away at Plymouth over the weekend, the mood in Lee Bowyer’s camp will certainly be on a high. With their spot in the playoffs all but confirmed, many around the Valley are starting to believe that a Championship return could be on the cards this season. Winning four of their last five and only picking up one defeat since the turn of the New Year, Bowyer will be growing more impressed by his sides defensive resolve. Tuesday’s visitors have kept three clean sheets on the bounce and have gone nearly 350 minutes without conceding a goal. Also unbeaten in their last four matches on the road, we’re backing an away victory for Charlton in midweek.
