Really heading to Wembley with some momentum on Sunday, Charlton will look to secure their return to the Championship when they meet Sunderland this weekend.

Starting with Lee Bowyer’s Charlton side, while The Addicks may have needed penalties to come past Doncaster last week, it has been a very eye-catching end to the year for the Reds. Winning their final three League One matches of the campaign and scoring 10 goals on that winning run, the former England midfielder has seen his side lose just one matchup since the 2nd of February. One man to watch on Sunday will be leading goalscorer, Lyle Taylor. Bagging 22 goals in the second-tier and finishing second in the overall goalscoring charts, the 27-year-old also has 10 in his last 12 appearances for Charlton.

As for the visitors, while Sunderland may have managed to come past Portsmouth with a close-fought 1-0 aggregate victory last week, it does not cover what has been a worrying end to the year for the Black Cats. Managing to pick up just a single victory in their last six showings, Head Coach Jack Ross has also seen his side manage to pick up just a pair of victories since the start of April. Arguably Sunderland’s biggest issues this season has been their continued struggles away from the North East. The Red and Whites have failed to win any of their last four matches on the road and have managed to win just two of their last nine away from the Stadium of Light.
