Chelsea welcome Nottingham Forest to Stamford Bridge in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening, and are big favourites to book their place in the fourth round of the competition given the contrasting form between the two sides. Chelsea have overcome a poor start and are unbeaten in five, while Forest have been short of wins of late.

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side have won four of their last five games in all competitions against Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Leicester City and Qarabag, drawing with Arsenal most recently. The Blues have kept clean sheets in three of their last four games, and despite them likely making changes for this week’s clash, Chelsea’s superior form should see them over the line.

As for the visitors, Mark Warburton’s Nottingham Forest side are coming off the back of three defeats from their last four games in all competitions against Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Forest beat Shrewsbury Town and Newcastle United to reach the third round of the Carabao Cup, but Bet 365 are giving odds of 1/7 for the hosts to come out on top.
