Chelsea interested in Kurzawa loan

Chelsea are continuing their efforts to bolster their left-back position after Ben Chilwell picked up an ACL injury which has ruled him out for the season. They reportedly spoke to Olympique Lyon regarding a possibility of bringing Emerson Palmieri back from his loan there, but the Ligue 1 side have rejected their proposal. They’ve also tried to recall 19-year-old Ian Maatsen from his loan at Coventry, but that attempt was unsuccessful as well.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have now turned their attention to the idea of signing Layvin Kurzawa on loan from Paris Saint-Germain for the rest of the season.

The 29-year-old joined PSG from AS Monaco in 2015, and he his contract at the Parc des Princes runs until the summer of 2024. However, he is obviously surplus to requirements there at the moment, having only featured nine minutes in a single match this season as his team suffered a 1-0 defeat to LOSC Lille on the French Super Cup in early August.
