Chicago Fire sign Robert Earnshaw

Chicago Fire have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Welsh striker Robert Earnshaw.

The 33-year-old joins on a free transfer after his short-term deal with Blackpool expired in June.

While the details of the transfer were not disclosed, the veteran forward will be eligible to play for his new club upon receipt of P1 Visa and International Certificate.

Earnshaw already has some MLS experience, having spent just over a year with Toronto FC, scoring 8 goals in 26 league appearances for the Canadian side.

He then went on to join Blackpool on a free transfer in March this year, but only made one substitute appearance in the Championship.

Earnshaw, who bagged 9 goals in 43 matches for Wales, had begun his career at Cardiff City and also represented Greenock Morton, West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City, Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Toronto FC and Blackpool.
