A Muriqui brace has helped Guangzhou Evergrande into second in the Chinese Super League after a 3-0 win over Henan Jianye on Sunday.
The Brazilian attacker struck in the 31st and 77th minutes at Tianhe Stadium, before Wu Pingfeng added a third for the reigning champions.
Guangzhou Evergrande are second to city rivals Guangzhou R&F, who have a better goal difference, while Henan Jianye are bottom of the league.
In other matches, a 55th-minute Wang Song goal saw Hangzhou to their first league win of the season, a 1-0 victory over Beijing Guoan.
Meanwhile, third-placed Jiangsu Shuntian were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw at Tianjin Teda.
