City pondering summer move for Casillas

Spanish daily newspaper AS has learned that Manchester City are considering a summer bid for Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Manuel Pellegrini is hoping to sign a new number one following a serious dip in form of first choice keeper Joe Hart and he has reportedly made the Spain international his number one target.

However, rather than making a move in the January window, the Citizens plan to wait until the summer before making their interest concrete.

Despite the lack of playing time, Casillas is not too keen on leaving this winter, but he rather wants to wait and see whether his situation will change before the end of the season.

The experienced shot-stopper has only been used in Champions League matches this term, but he impressed every time he was called upon.

Manchester City returned to the title race with a 6-0 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur, with the Citizens now 7/4 favourites for the Premiership trophy.
