Birmingham City head coach Pep Clotet has left his position after Wednesday’s 3-1 loss to Swansea City.
Clotet was due to step down at the end of the season, but “it was mutually agreed that he should relinquish the role immediately”, the Championship club said in a statement.
Birmingham’s loss to Swansea left them in 17th in the table, just four points clear of the relegation zone with four games left in their season.
Clotet, 43, took over at Birmingham last year, having previously been an assistant at the club.
“The board would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Pep for his efforts during the past two years,” the club said.
