Coloccini in talks to leave Newcastle

Argentinian centre back Fabricio Coloccini’s agent has confirmed that the 27-year-old is in talks to leave Newcastle United.

Coloccini has failed to make an impact after joining the Magpies in a €13million deal from Deportivo La Coruna.

Sevilla and Atletico Madrid are both interested in the highly rated defender.

“Fabricio is disappointed with Newcastle’s relegation and he wants to play more regularly,” Marcelo Lombilla told Setanta Sports.

“We are studying several options, all in Europe,” he added.

“The boy does not wish to return to Argentina, even if some enquiries have been made.”
