Looking to continue on what has been a hugely impressive purple patch, a high-flying Colorado will travel to the TQL Stadium when they face off against Cincinnati in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Starting with the hosts, while Cincinnati might have managed to land themselves that much-needed victory against Montreal last month, it appears that was just a minor bounce for Jaap Stam’s men. Struggling to find their feet under the former Manchester United defender, the Ohio-based outfit are already sat rock-bottom of the Eastern Conference. Tipped as one of the leading contenders to lift the wooden spoon, Cincinnati were last seen getting hit with a 1-0 loss against New England and they have tasted defeat in four of their last five MLS matchups. Yet to record a single clean sheet since opening up the 2021 campaign and only showing a host of continued issues at the back, Stam will know that his side certainly face another stern test at the TQL Stadium this weekend.

As for the visitors, while Cincinnati might find themselves in the midst of a real MLS nightmare, the same cannot be said for an impressive Colorado outfit. Really making an immediate return to winning ways before heading into the international break, The Rapids were last seen landing a thumping 3-0 win at home against Dallas and the mood in their camp should be at a real high. Winning four of their last five contests, including a 3-1 win against fellow play-off contenders Houston Dynamo last month, Head Coach Robin Fraser should also be boosted by his side’s most recent meeting against Sunday’s hosts. Picking up another 3-1 victory when they last faced off against Stam’s men, we’re backing a high-flying Colorado to extend on their recent purple patch this weekend.
