Looking to extend on what has been a real MLS purple patch, Colorado will welcome LA Galaxy to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting in what was another impressive display last weekend as they picked up a deserved 1-0 win against San Jose on the road, Colorado have only continued to gain a string of plaudits from across America this season. Knowing that another victory on Saturday night could see them climb to top spot in the Western Conference, Head Coach Robin Fraser has been filled with praise for his side’s continued performances. With a 1-1 stalemate against fellow Final Series contenders Sporting KC when drawing a close to August, the Rapids have managed to muster a hugely impressive 13 points from just their last five MLS matchups. Smelling a golden chance when they return to Denver this weekend, it should also be noted that Colorado picked up a 2-1 win when they faced off against Saturday’s guests last month.

As for the visitors, while LA Galaxy might have just about managed to nick an action-packed 3-3 draw off of bitter rivals LAFC last weekend, it does not cover what has been a downbeat run for the Whites. Despite still being sat in pole position to clinch a Final Series spot this season, Head Coach Greg Vanney has seen his side muster just a single point from their last three MLS contests. Largely failing to build off of those back-to-back victories when heading into August, the Western Conference outfit have gained a reputation for their recent problems on the road. With just a single win outside of California to their name since the end of June, there is no doubt that Galaxy could face another tough test on their travels this weekend.
