Isidro Metapan defeated Pumas Unam 2-1 in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League semi-final on Thursday.
The winners welcomed the Mexican side to El Salvador and took the early lead through Mark Blanco’s 27th minute strike.
And when Blanco bagged his second four minutes after the break, it looked like Isidro would be heading into the second leg with a healthy advantage.
But the leaders of the El Salvador Primera Division had that lead cut when Eduardo Herrera netted on 67 minutes.
That goal will give Pumas – who are 11th in the Mexican top-flight – confidence ahead of the second leg, which they will host on March 15.
