Uruguay’s Liverpool have taken control of their Copa Sudamericana first-stage match after a 3-0 victory over Universitario in the first leg.
Liverpool got off to the ideal start when Carlos Nunez scored on 12 minutes following some quick footwork on the edge of the box.
The home side then took a two-goal lead from the spot through Paulo Pezzolano after his cross was handled in the box.
The match was all but over when Nunez bagged his second three minutes later after rounding the keeper to tap in on 22 minutes.
The second leg is in Bolivia on August 16.
In the other tie, Venezuelan side Deportivo Tachira played out a goalless draw with Ecuador’s Barcelona at the Estadio Polideportivo de Pueblo Neuvo.
