Handed the chance to extend their buffer at the top of the League One table, a resurgent Coventry will welcome a struggling AFC Wimbledon to St Andrew’s on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Coventry’s decision to move to St Andrew’s over the summer may have upset many in the Midlands, the Blues have arguably become League One’s surprise package. With Head Coach Mark Robins largely turning to youth since missing out on a route back to the Championship last season, they are now one of just two sides who are yet to taste defeat in any of their opening eight appearances. A huge part of Coventry’s eye-catching start has come thanks to their form at their adoptive home. Robins men have won each of their opening four matches at St Andrew’s, including an impressive 3-2 win over fellow promotion hopefuls Blackpool last week.

As for the visitors, while Coventry might be enjoying a bright start to the new campaign, AFC Wimbledon find themselves in a very different position. Managing to snatch a point off of fellow strugglers Shrewsbury last time out, Wally Downes men are still looking for their first victory across any format so far and have remarkably picked up one League One victory since the end of March. Now freefalling into the drop zone, a huge part of AFC’s major issue has been their form on the road. Including a 2-1 defeat against bitter rivals MK Dons last week, Tuesday’s guests have lost each of their opening four matches outside of Surrey.
