Coyle confident of Bolton revival

Owen Coyle is confident Bolton can put their woeful start to the season behind them and start to push up the table with a good run of form.

The Trotters began the season with a comprehensive 4-0 thumping of QPR, but have since suffered six successive defeats and are currently rock-bottom of the Premier League.

Bolton have faced five of last season’s top six however, and the former Burnley man remains upbeat despite the worrying start and is backing his players to kick-start their season.

“We knew from the outset of the season that it was certainly a horrendous fixture list in terms of playing five of the teams that will finish in the top six, and we have come out of those games with no points,” Coyle told Sky Sports.

“But we have to pick ourselves up – we are now going into a group of games that I certainly believe we can win points from and start to move up the league.”

“You have to take your disappointments and the smacks in the teeth that come your way.”

“I had a career of that as a player and if I get a bit of it now as a manager, then so be it.”

Bolton have a week off for the international break, before travelling to Wigan for their next Premier League match on October 15.
