Barcelona icon Johan Cruyff said he is confident that coach Pep Guardiola will not leave the club in the lurch at the end of the season.
Guardiola, 41, has not yet revealed what he plans to do when his current contract expires in mid-year.
Nevertheless, Cruyff said he expects Guardiola to reveal his plans for next campaign in the near future.
“Guardiola played for Barcelona and is now coach. He’s a real club man and will not leave them in a lurch,” Cruyff told EFE.
“He will not wait two months before announcing his decision. If he did not have any doubts about his future, he would already have made a decision.”
Guardiola replaced Frank Rijkaard as head coach at the Camp Nou side ahead of the 2007-08 season, and has already led the club to 13 trophies, including two Champions League crowns, three La Liga titles and two Club World Cups.
