Crystal Palace braced for Zaha interest

Wilfried Zaha has been a subject of much speculation for a long time now. His desire to play for a club with a chance of playing in the Champions League, expressed publicly by himself some time ago, is quite understandable, but his current employers don’t seem willing to part with their arguably best player.

Having handed in a transfer request, the 27-year-old was linked most heavily with Arsenal over the summer, but the Gunners eventually signed Nicolas Pepe from Lille instead after their reported bid came nowhere near Palace’s valuation of the winger.

With the winter transfer window opening in a month and Zaha’s form still not wavering, the Eagles and manager Roy Hodgson are prepared for another bout of interest in his services from top clubs.

Speaking to the press after Zaha scored the opening goal in the 0-2 win away to Burnley, Hodgson admitted it being hard for a club like Crystal Palace to keep hold of a player ‘capable of causing problems to any defence in the world’ when the big ones come in with big-money offers.
