Guangzhou Evergrande dropped their first points in seven games when they drew 2-2 with Guizhou Renhe on Saturday.

The Chinese Super League leaders saw their hopes of another win stunted in the 79th minute when Elkeson, who has scored 19 goals in 19 games, found the back of the wrong net.

The own goal added to an effort from Zlatan Muslimovic, with the home side fighting back after finding themselves 2-0 down to snatch a vital point.

The result leaves Lei Gong’s team in fourth place in the table, where they are now tied on points with Beijing Guoan.

Marcello Lippi’s Evergrande remain unbeaten at the top of the table.

Saturday’s action also saw a one-sided encounter between Dalian Aerbin and Wuhan Zall, with Simo Krunic’s side beating the league strugglers 3-0.

The victory, which marks the first in four for Dalian, came via goals from Yu Dabao, Seydou Keita and substitute Sun Bo, with the rock-bottom visitors seeing Garra Dembele sent off for a second yellow card in the 53rd minute.

Dalian moved up to seventh in the table, just one point behind Guangzhou R&F, who beat Qingdao Jonoon 2-0 on Sunday thanks to a 75th-minute goal from defender Xu Bo and a penalty from Davi.

Elsewhere, a brace for Carmelo Valencia sealed Tianjin Teda’s 2-1 victory over Shandong Luneng, while Beijing Guoan and Jiangsu Sainty played out one of the best of the ties of the weekend with a 3-3 thriller on Sunday.

Jiangsu battled back from two goals down to score three times in the space of just seven minutes, although an own goal from Beijing’s Yegor Krimets helped their cause.

However, that still marked a well-earned point for the away side, who have move up to 10th in the table.

Changchun Yatai’s match with Shanghai SIPG ended goalless, while Liaoning Whowin scored at both ends in their 1-1 tie with Shanghai Shenxin – an own goal from Yang Shanping cancelling out Milos Trifunovic’s 53rd-minute opener.

The final action of the round saw a tight contest between Shanghai Shenhua and Hangzhou on Monday, with the two sides separated in the 85th minute when Kim Dong-Jin fired home to grab the points for the away team.
