Hangzhou moved to sixth on the Chinese Super League table with a 3-1 win over Guangzhou R&F on Sunday.

After a 1-1 draw with Changchun Yatai in their first match of the season, Hangzhou – who finished 11th last term – produced an impressive home win at the Yellow Dragon Sports Centre.

Wang Song gave the hosts the lead after just three minutes and Gao Di doubled the advantage just after the half-hour mark.

Former Everton and Portsmouth striker Yakubu pulled a goal back for the losers just before half-time but it mattered little.

Hangzhou reclaimed their two-goal lead when Cao Xuan struck seven minutes into the second half and that was enough to give them the healthy win.

Tianjin Teda and Shanghai Shenhua were docked six points for the current season for match-fixing in the 2003 season but both claimed good results on Sunday.

Tianjin Teda claimed a last-gasp 1-1 draw at Liaoning Whowin thanks to Cao Yang’s 93rd minute strike while Shanghai Shenhua beat Shanghai Shenxin 1-0.

Argentine Patricio Toranzo scored the goal for the winners in the local derby.
