After enjoying an impressive turn of form of late, Ben Olsen’s DC United side will look to continue their rise up the Eastern Conference when they welcome a struggling New England side to Audi Field.

Starting with Olsen’s high-flying DC United side, although it was a difficult start to the new campaign, Monday’s hosts have enjoyed a terrific mid-season bounce and a spot in the playoffs is looking more likely by the week.  Coming off the back of thumping The Timbers 4-1 last week, while they are yet to keep a clean sheet in their four-match unbeaten run, DC have now scored nine in their last four and their turn of fortune can be put down to the form of former England captain Wayne Rooney. the 32-year-0ld scored a brace last time out and already has three goals and five assists to his name.

As for former USA keeper Brad Friedel and his New England side, with the Revolution coming off the back of a 3-2 home defeat to Philadelphia, they have now slipped out of the playoff positions and one of the MLS’ least in form sides. Without a win in their last six and losing four of their last five, New England have continued to struggle with their defensive issues. While they have scored five in their last two, Friedel’s side have now shipped 13 in their last five and have failed to win any of their last nine matches on the road.
