Genoa coach Luigi De Canio has accused Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah of diving in the team’s Serie A clash on Sunday.

Former Udinese star Asamoah came off the bench after 55 minutes and won Juve a spot-kick some 20 minutes later, going to the ground a bit too easily in the opinion of De Canio.

Scudetto holders Juve ran out 3-1 winners at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris, despite trailing 1-0 with an hour played.

“Compliments to Asamoah, he really is a born actor,” De Canio said.

De Canio also criticised the referee for his decision not to dismiss Leonardo Bonucci in the first half, while admitting Genoa should have put the match to bed after the break.

“I think Leonardo Bonucci should have been sent off before the break, as it was a clear scoring opportunity.

“In the space of a few seconds we went from possibly going 2-0 up to drawing 1-1. That was the decisive moment of the match.”

Genoa have dropped to 11th spot in the Serie A table following Sunday’s defeat.
