Alessandro Del Piero’s agent believes his client should move to Major League Soccer when his Juventus contract expires.

Juve announced in October they would not be renewing veteran Del Piero’s contract when it runs out at the end of the season.

Since then, the 37-year-old has been linked with several clubs, both in Italy and overseas.

Del Piero’s agent, Antonio Caliendo, considers the United States his client’s most likely destination.

“Well, if it was up to him, he would have continued at Juventus,” Caliendo told Goal.com.

“So, now, I think that Del Piero is carefully considering his alternatives. Personally, I think MLS would be ideal for him because there he could display his immense talent.”

“Think of people like (David) Beckham, who, thanks to MLS, has managed to extend his great career, bringing significant revenue to the entire US soccer movement and also himself.”

“A player of the calibre of Del Piero would be suited to MLS.”

Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi has already expressed his interest in bringing Del Piero to the Stadio Ennio Tardini, an offer Caliendo considers viable.

“Well, it’s not a solution to be dismissed,” he said.

“Del Piero is very attached to his family; they are of great importance to him.”

“Maybe he could make a choice like that made by Roberto Baggio when he decided to finish his career at Brescia. He could do great things with (Sebastian) Giovinco,” he said, referring to the Parma playmaker.

Del Piero has made over 500 appearances in Serie A for Juventus after joining the club from Padova in 1993.
