Looking to pick up an early advance in their play-off final, a high-flying Deportivo La Coruna will welcome Mallorca to the Estadio Abanca-Riazor on Thursday night.

Starting with the hosts, shocking many and picking up a 1-0 win away at Malaga last weekend, fans around the Estadio Abanca-Riazor will be overjoyed by Deportivo’s end to the year. Securing a 6-2 aggregate victory in the semi-finals and their confidence the highest it has been this year, former Sevilla midfielder José Luis Martí has seen his side enjoy a three-match winning run and have tasted defeat just once since the middle of April. A huge part of Deportivo’s purple patch has come thanks to their continued form on home soil. Along with putting four past Malaga at the Estadio Abanca-Riazor earlier in the month, they have also won their last three matches in front of their own fans.

As for the visitors, while a close-fought 2-1 aggregate win may have seen Mallorca come past Albacete last week, Head Coach Vicente Moreno will be concerned by the performances of his side, particularly on the road. Managing to pick up just a single win since the middle of May, Los Bermellones have lost three of their last four matches outside of Palma and have not recorded an away goal in over 300 minutes of action. Now losing each of their last three matches against their opponents on Thursday, we’re backing another tough night for a struggling Mallorca outfit.
