RKC Waalwijk came from behind to beat Go Ahead Eagles 3-2 and reach the Dutch Cup quarter-finals, while Heracles romped past De Graafschap.

Both RKC Waalwijk and Go Ahead ended with ten men, despite the Eerste Divisie outfit appearing to have the match under control at 2-0 up in the second half.

Marnix Kolder was the scorer of both Go Ahead’s goals, before he was sensationally sent off in the 55th minute.

RKC Waalwijk’s Rick Ten Voorde soon followed him nine minutes later with a straight red for a tackle on Jarchinio Antonia, before the Eredivisie side mounted a late comeback to steal the win.

In a stunning nine-minute spell, Geoffrey Castillion pulled one back for the home side in the 79th minute and Mitchell Schet equalised four minutes later, before Ard van Peppen netted the winner with just two minutes left to play.

Elsewhere, Heracles Almelo thumped De Graafschap 4-0 to secure their place in the last eight.

Willy Overtoom opened the scoring in the third minute before an own goal, Samuel Armenteros’ 41st-minute effort and a Marko Vejinovic strike sealed the convincing win.

Third division side GVVV Veenendaal beat Sparta Rotterdam 5-4 on penalties, with the scores locked at 1-1 after extra time.
