(GSM) – The Dutch championship is all but decided after leaders FC Twente lost 1-0 at AZ Alkmaar on Thursday.

Twente, who began the match with a four-points lead over second-placed Ajax, could not prevent that AZ took the initiative in the opening phase.

Just eight minutes had passed when a Simon Poulsen cross was turned into his own goal by the unfortunate defender Peter Wisgerhof.

Twente improved their performance in the second half and created more and more pressure on the opposing defense, but failed to score the equaliser.

As such, Ajax get a chance to reduce the gap to just one point on Wednesday in an away match to Willem II.
