Tipped by many to be the favorite to lift the African crown this summer, a high-flying Egypt will welcome South Africa to Cairo on Saturday.

Starting with this summers hosts, putting in another eye-catching display in their 2-0 win over Uganda in their Group A finale, the mood in Egypt’s camp couldn’t be any higher. Looking to go one step further than their silver medal finish out in Gabon two years ago, Javier Aguirre’s men are currently enjoying a five-match winning run and have also tasted defeat just once in their 11 post-World Cup appearances. Unsurprisingly, one man to watch on Saturday will be attacking talisman, Mohamed Salah. Once again finding the net against Uganda last time out, the Liverpool ace also bagged 22 Premier League goals this season, a tally that saw him retain his Golden Boot.

As for the visitors, while South Africa may have suffered late heartbreak in their 1-0 loss against Morocco earlier in the week, Stuart Baxter’s side once again flattered to deceive and was largely outclassed by the Atlas Lions. While a close-fought 1-0 victory over Namibia may have secured them a route out of Group D as one of the third best finishers, the African outfit have drastically struggled in the final third. Recording just a single strike out in Egypt this summer and a huge underdog for their trip to Cairo this weekend, we’re backing a high-flying Egypt to come out in top.
