NAC Breda recorded their first victory of the Eredivisie season on Friday, beating NEC Nijmegen 2-1 away from home.

The visitors had to come from behind to do it, after Bram Nuytinck put NEC ahead in the first minute of the match at Stadion De Goffert.

The centre-back converted Ryan Koolwijk’s corner to register the second fastest goal of the season, with struggling NAC apparently set to suffer again.

The visitors continued to trail at the half-time break, and were fortunate not to be 2-0 down, as goal-scorer Nuytinck headed wide while unmarked inside the box.

Robbert Schilder somehow contrived to miss an open goal for NAC in the 57th minute, but he made amends six minutes later, playing in Alex Schalk for the 19-year-old striker to equalise.

And four minutes later Omer Bayram struck to make it 2-1 to the away side.

Striker Melvin Platje had a chance to level for NEC 11 minutes from time, but his shot was cleared off the line by Donny Gorter.

NAC’s first win moves them up to 16th place, still inside the relegation zone, but level on four points with ADO Den Haag and FC Groningen, who are 14th and 15th respectively.

NEC are three points better off in ninth place.
