PSV moved to the top of the Eredivisie table after a 3-0 home win over Twente on Sunday.

Dick Advocaat’s side entered the match in good spirits after a 3-1 win at Napoli in the Europa League on Thursday and Georginio Wijnaldum’s goal just seven minutes before half-time gave them a boost heading into the break.

Twente – who dropped to third on the table after the loss – remained resolute at the back but their attempts to score an equaliser were in vain.

The all-important second goal was scored by Tim Matavz with 10 minutes remaining before Luciano Narsingh wrapped up the three points with his 82nd-minute strike.

Vitesse Arnhem threw away an early lead in a 3-1 defeat at strugglers VVV Venlo.

Marco van Ginkel’s 10th-minute goal gave Vitesse a bright start but Yuki Otsu levelled proceedings five minutes before half-time.

And second-half goals to Brian Linssen and Robert Cullen helped VVV out of the relegation zone with a surprise win against the second-placed Vitesse.

Roda JC came from behind three times to claim a point in a thrilling 4-4 draw with Heerenveen.

Trailing 3-1 with just 13 minutes to go, Roda – who started the day on the bottom of the table – received a lifeline when Bart Biemans netted.

But Rajiv van La Parra produced a quick response to restore Heerenveen’s two-goal lead.

Late goals to Sanharib Malki, who finished the match with a brace, and substitute Guus Hupperts saw Roda snatch an unlikely point.

The day’s other match saw NAC Breda play out a 2-2 home draw with Feyenoord.

Both sides ended the match with 10 men, with Serbian Nemanja Gudelj netting a 76th-minute equaliser for the hosts.
