The Atlanta Falcons cruised to a 41-14 thrashing of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL on Thursday.

As expected, the Falcons eased past the struggling Jaguars to make it nine wins from 14 matches and move a win clear atop the NFC wildcard playoff race.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars are third in the AFC South with just four wins.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan starred to lead his team to a comfortable win, throwing 19 from 26 for 224 yards including three touchdowns.

Receiver Roddy White caught two touchdown passes and the Falcons’ win was never in doubt when they opened up a 27-0 half-time lead.

White took his tally for receiving for the season to over 1,000 yards – the first Falcons wide receiver to achieve the feat in five consecutive seasons.

The Jaguars got on the board when Zach Potter scored to make it 41-7, and they added another touchdown in the last through Chastin West.

West was on the end of a 16-yard pass from quarterback Blaine Gabbert (12 of 22 for 141 yards and one touchdown), after a 10-play 85-yard drive, but the Falcons had already sealed the win after dominating the first three quarters.
