FC Cincinnati dismantled Universidad OandM 9-0 to seal a remarkable 13-0 aggregate victory in the Champions Cup.

Cincinnati’s Dominican opposition offered no resistance as the MLS side charged into the last 16, with Tigres UANL next up.

Kenji Mboma Dem scored twice and set up another, while Obinna Nwobodo provided three assists.

Alvas Powell, Stiven Jimenez, Gerardo Valenzuela, Tom Barlow, Stefan Chirila and Ademar Chavez were also on the scoresheet for Cinci, while Ayoub Lajhar set up two goals.

Brian White missed a penalty and Thomas Muller hit the post, but the Vancouver Whitecaps still claimed a 2-0 victory over CS Cartagines, progressing 2-0 on aggregate.

Kenji Cabrera broke the deadlock in the 58th minute, before Sebastian Berhalter doubled Vancouver’s lead late on, with the Seattle Sounders next up for the Whitecaps.

The LA Galaxy found life tougher against Sporting San Miguelito, drawing 0-0, but after a 1-1 draw in the first leg, the MLS side progressed on away goals.

Data Debrief: Chavez’s slice of Cinci history

At the age of 17 years and 44 days, Chavez became the youngest goalscorer in Cincinnati’s history, in what was a club-record margin of victory.

Cinci were not just clinical, they were dominant, creating opportunities worth 5.42 expected goals to OandM’s 0.22, creating 11 big chances.

Jimenez and Nwobodo both created five chances each, while Cinci had 30 touches in the opposition box, compared to OandM managing just 11.
