Figo blasts Ronaldo over Portugal failure

(GSM) – Luis Figo has slammed Cristiano Ronaldo over his attitude after Portugal’s defeat against Spain.

Former Portugal captain Figo wasn’t impressed by Ronaldo’s reaction as the team’s leader to his country’s World Cup elimination.

When asked for an explanation, the Real Madrid star snapped: “Ask (coach Carlos) Queiroz.”

This infuriated Figo, who blasted the 25-year-old forward: “My notion of what a captain is may be different from other people, but a captain, regardless of success or failure always has to defend the team.

“In hard times he should stand up for the team.”
