Fiorentina demand €30m for Jovetic

Fiorentina co-owner Andrea Della Valle has warned Juventus they must pay €30 million to sign Stevan Jovetic.

The Turin club are just one of a number of teams to be linked with the Montenegrin playmaker, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City all thought to hold an interest in the 23-year-old.

Antonio Conte’s side have already brought in Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season, but are still chasing forwards as they look to secure a third Serie A title in a row and improve on last season’s run to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

Fiorentina secured the signing of Mario Gomez from Bayern Munich on Monday as they aim to improve on last season’s fourth-placed Serie A finish, and Della Valle was quick to stress that they will only part with Jovetic for the right price.

“Give us 30 million euros or nothing,” he told Sport Mediaset.

“We need to understand if they have the money or not.

“We do not accept exchanges. Do not go down from 30 million. We will not wait much longer.”

Jovetic was a key figure for Vincenzo Montella’s side last term as they narrowly missed out on qualification for UEFA Champions League football on the last day of the season to Milan.

The Montenegro international made 34 appearances last season, scoring 13 goals.

And Della Valle hinted that Gomez’s signing was not made to replace Jovetic, but complement him.

“It was important and difficult negotiations,” Della Valle added.

“Gomez is the missing piece in Vincenzo Montella’s team.”
