Defending Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar earned their fourth consecutive victory, beating Willem II 2-1 to move to the top of the Eredivisie.

Brett Holman put Ronald Koeman’s men ahead after just seven minutes at DSB Stadium, but that goal wasn’t enough yet as Sergio Zijler equalised in the 23rd.

Just a minute later though, Hector Moreno made it 2-1 and that goal did turn out to be enough to take the three points.

AZ are now first in the Eredivisie but could drop back a maximum of three spots on Sunday. For Willem II on the other hand, this is the fourth defeat in a row. Therefore, the Tilburg side remain stuck in 16th place.
