Olympique Lyon extended their French Ligue 1 lead with a 2-1 win over AS Nancy Lorraine while Marseille drew at Le Mans.

Karim Benzema put the defending champions in the lead after 31 minutes and Fred doubled the advantage another five minutes later.

Nancy reacted immediately as Berenguer netted for 2-1, but Lyon held on to their lead to take the points.

Olympique de Marseille failed to win at Le Mans, thanks to which the gap with Lyon grows to four points.

Marseille did take the lead through Ben Arfa in the 7th minute but Helstad equalised for Le Mans three minutes later.

Lyon have an almost perfect record with five wins and one draw.
